After weighing up the options I built this a few months ago. I cut everything on it which drops straight into wooden crates that are then forklifted to the splitter. Logs are then stacked in the barn to dry.

Probably not as quick as full blown processor, but fraction of cost, less breakdowns and it`ll take up tp 18 inch plus bent stuff!

I have to say i love this!:thumbup::thumbup:

 

Home built stuff rocks, mainly because you can build it to your individual specification, but also it's fun to do, costs a fraction of anything you can buy and....

Seriously though fentiger, looks like a simple effective piece of kit. may have build something similar, :thumbup:

Don`t worry, that just happened to be a bit of large Ash, yes straight, but even that size with some bends still goes through! I thought that piece would show how quick it cuts!

I like the simplicity of it.

 

Would it be possible to fit some form of linkage to flick the chain brake on when the cut is finished then flick it off again when you pick the saw up to begin the cut. Not a criticism, just a comment.
