To be honest, the grapples arent the best for any distance hauling, I have been choking the butts this time, with better results. I ve been attaching a chain shortener directly onto the cable eye, so you get a better lift on the choke chain, ideal for skidding over brash. If you look on the rotator (spiky bit) there is also some welded on shackles for tightening down a ratchet strap for even more secure transport, but since choking the logs this proved unnecessary. Time wise, Ive found this choking far more efficent. Gonna make an addition for lifting and transporting trees too, using the arch!!
