Tirfor - can't be beaten for quality, reliability, and longevity. Cheaper "griphoist" types don't seem to measure up (although those marketed under the "Yale" brand might be OK - Yale have made the best "Pullifts" for years and I doubt they would put their name to rubbish). There are many fairly good cheap ones around but they will not last, and cheap tools tend to be more expensive in the long run.

 

Trewhella also can't be beaten for what they are, but they are very different to the griphoist type and are suited to rather different work. They also tend to be very hard to find secondhand and either very expensive or very old or both.
