Yeah I've been pestering my employer for a long time to get me B+E, but I've stopped pestering since our technical officer suggested that the authority's 1980 Unimog be kept on our yard so that I can use that to tow without B+E. Gotta love Agri tax. Ridiculous though that I can tow a 2 ton Ifor behind a Mog quite legally, yet can't tow it behind my Van.

Polesaw can be quite a handy one as well, saves having to climb sometimes.

It is a bit silly i can pull the timber trailer behind a 7 tonne tractor on the road with no real training. I can't however tow a trailer behind the landy without taking a test. Quite a hard test at that.

As for the pole saw i've never known anyone with the ticket. Its one they brought in a little while ago. If you can use a saw and prune a tree then i'd say give it a miss.

I quite agree, the only reason I've got it is because I work for a public authority that has no concept of cross qualification. If you're qualified to use a saw when the chain is near your leg, it stands to reason that you should be able to manage one that's on the end of a stick.

My employers are just covering their ar$es i guess
