My advert on ebay

I am thinking of putting 2 cu metres of ash delivered within 15 miles of Andover on ebay for £295.00 . I will inform future customers that a similar load of green beech will be available in April for £180 depending on how much cord wood has risen by. When the next lot of snow hits in a few days and kero cant get to the villages I should be able to get through with my new Mud terrains that cost me £500. If kero is now twice the price and gas and electric rising logs should follow. What does everybody think. Business yes, money grabbing probably, if its inconvienent to spend ones money on ones logs in the summer one needs to pay for the convienence in the winter:thumbup:

Dont feel guilty about cashing in when everyone elses supply has gone Steve.

Unfortunately I have lost my complete stock due to building failure, otherwise I would have been sticking the prices up now.

You need to put it into context, you can offer great discounts when its out of season to keep you going in quiet times, so why should you charge a regular price when its crazy season?

Worth a try on flea bay IMO, it wont cost you much if they dont sell:sneaky2:

This is a commodity business. In principle it doesn't differ one iota from the trade in oil, trade in wheat, trade in gold. It is simply supply and demand. If (as you clearly are) are stating exactly what the buyer will get and you deliver what you promise, then what ever price you and the buyer come to an agreement at is the fair price/value.

Good luck to you, it's smart business sense.

i will be putting the price up on our logs in the new year (to all new customers) with fuel prices going up again - it's starting to get expensive filling up the van - plus if they want dry and seasoned wood which will burn lovely - they are going to have to pay for it

i don't see a problem in chancing your arm on a higher price through flea bay - :thumbup1:
