My freinds chipper has a fault with the fast response tacho relay according to the repair shop. They have been back to Timberwolf and the part is no longer made and the only solution is to upgrade other parts which makes the machine uneconomical to repair.

Long shot I know but does anyone have one or know how to repair it?:thumbup1:

That might have an entec sticker on it but they almost certainly didn’t make it and when they say no longer made they probably mean they haven’t got any left.

It’s a simple magnetic pick up, there will be others that will do the same job but you might have to adapt brackets. Find out what input voltage the box needs and tell your repair shop to get creative.

Here are a couple of pickups from RS components who are nationwide, there are other suppliers.

Thanks for the advice Andy. I thought it was going to be a pain to get out but a simple tap with a hammer and out it came.

I am an electronics engineer and have an RS account so might go for a 12v one and hope for the best.

Fair Play for experimenting and solving the problem. I bet many Entec users will be grateful for your assisting in solving the problem and sourcing a difficult to obtain component.

No problem, that's what forums are for.

There really isn't much on that board. The only part I suspect you can't get is that large chip, a PIC microcontroller that would have to be programmed. The developer's name is on the PCB but pure luck if they even still have the code.

I will let you know towards the tail end of next week if it works, he will owe me plenty of beers that's for sure as I am sure it will.
