Hi guys,

 

does anyone have a copy of their blue book to hand? I've lost mine and need to do some calculations.

 

Could do with a ballpark figure for a metre cube of softwood - doesn't need to be specific to species - just roughly will do :thumbup1:

NOT blue book!

 

Cypress 510kg per 1m3

Douglas Fir 530kg per 1m3

Larch 590kg per 1m3

Pine 350kg to 560kg per 1m3

Spruce 450kg per 1m3

3.7 metre log with top diameter 56cm is 1 cubic metre

4.2........................................52cm "

5.0........................................48cm "

6.0.........................................42cm "

 

 

and so on

Thanks guys, it was weight I'd meant - had to translate a volume to an estimate of weight and it's been a while - all done now though :thumbup1:

 

Shows how old my book was cos it was definately blue. will get round to ordering a new one eventually
