I used the good old insulation tape inside the cover trick.

Tried this, seemed to work briefly but the tape soon disintegrated during climbing. I had been thinking that I shouldn't need to be doing this with it so stopped, but as has been mentioned, the Pantin wasn't designed to be worn with Haix Pro Extremes.

No, but it was designed to be worn with mountaineering boots and so you are right, you shouldnt have to be messing about with it at all, but it can be put right easily enough. ALso this part of the strap does not really need to be adjustable, it doesnt really matter how high up your ankle it is. mine fits over scarpa pro ascents, and chainsaw boots with or without spikes on, and I dont need to adjust the stirrup strap at all.

I've been fitting the pantin lower lately, prefer the feel of it here ascending SRT. This is when it becomes a PITA to fit. Probably only used a dozen times or so ,so still lots of tweaking still to be done.

Slightly aside from this Rupe, you changed your SRT setup using TM of bridge/bina/croll/inner tube?

No, still got that set up but don't use it much at the moment, and pretty sure its not an ideal set up! Never have much time spare to play with other methods but there are lots of ideas on here.
