If its present it is early on, and no fruit will be there as yet, but there will be thickish white leathery sheets of mycelium, usualy alongside the rays.

 

Im interested because im curious as to how far advanced colonisation is in relation to wieght/end loading of limbs in failures that are often not associated with fungi because it is too early a stage for most to notice.

i have found this tree very intresting (well it is for me)

1. im quit new to tree work only bin doing it as and when i have jobs to do so what really amazed me is how much damage the willow has done to other trees round it just smashed them all up

2. is that the whole limb that split out is not hollow rotten just starting to rott where the split is

3.and how much force and stress there still is in that limb thats on the ground

intresting stuff if i get the job i will take pic of it. im just trying to price it up now to remove the tree and clear the limb and other trees that are damaged up.

biggest job iv ever looked at and dont really want to get the price wrong

a 046, tractor with loader and winch and a box of matches will do a lot of damage to that in a day. crash it in and haul it out, job done:thumbup1:
