Oak and Mulch?

Good post.

A good point. Oak is historically an open grown lover! Exact right habitat....:thumbup1:

Decompaction...Id say it depends on the method. Terravent? No..it picks it up and slams it right back down again....this will only further compact the problem...:001_smile:

I don't know about the Terravent but my de-compaction machine [works on a similar principle to the Terravent] certainly doesn't slam the soil back down.

Mulch is all well and very good, but in certain scenarios its just not practical.

So the gas escapes slowly enough once injected into the soil, allowing the soil/clod to settle relatively gently..? This may be what Hama was saying but unfortunately ( and not like him ) he does n't go on to explain his theory as to those situations in which it is most effective (more effective than others? )

I use my machine to de-compact and fissure the soil in layers, starting at a few inches working down as far as 600mm, I have total control over the volume of air injected too, with the terravent you won't have control of the gas released, but you can still work in layers, I hope that helps...
