Arbocom headsets

Do you really need 3 way???

Surely the guys on the ground can communicate with each other normally and the guy up the tree can speak to one of them and that one can relay any info to the climber.

You are right, the lads on the ground can communicate most of the time. But there are times when they are well apart like on roadsides with one inside garden and chipper is running etc. Like has been said, not all jobs require them and so we've all got another helmet with normal ear muffs.

The prob with the lads on the ground is that you tend to just leave the arborcoms on all the time and the lonely one on his own is left out of the banter!!

Three headsets senario

Two for stop go board men and one for the climber

so what about the groundies then

I would like a full wireless system to put in vehicles so all lads on site can be on same system

Was told it was due out but having technical issues

if it is arborcoms that you are referring to then yes, I was also told they would be available in 3-way 'soon' but it turns out they are not. Its more complicated than they thought and haven't done it yet and not even close apparently.

There is another system which uses a base and you can hook up several headsets to it to work in the same way. But a 3-way system (which could be 4-way for not Much more) would be about 2 grand. Obviously the more headsets, the more expensive the system is. ie. up to 4-way, then up to 8-way, etc etc.
