Who tests chainsaw trousers?

Just wondering if trousers are independently tested or are there to many variables to make testing worthwhile?

Reason I ask two people at work have gone through their trousers recently, neither have clogged the saws up, and both have had minor cuts on their legs. The second, scarily, had seemed to cut along the sewn seem in the protective layers. I must add both trousers were different makes. Opinions please!!

Trousers are only designed to stop a chain with your finger taken off the throttle, this is only on smaller saws. An 088 will cut straight through trousers with out a struggle.

I would say what you have experienced is the norm, and you have been mistaken about the amount of protection trousers offer
