Nice day for treework!

The pov1 is excellent value for money Imo. A real sturdy, uncomplicated design.

I keep the camera unit in the big pocket of the StretchAir's, lock the keypad and then just stop/start the recording from the wireless wrist remote. Its water, dust and shock proof (within reason) so you'd do well to break it during a tree job.

Still waiting for the wide angled lense that was promised though, but other than that, you'd be hard pressed to purchase a more practical helmet camera:icon14:

What are youi doing with the footage? Do you edit with it's own software? I take it your not using the 110 degree lens? My system cost about £150, plus the camcorder I already owned. It's all abit beaten up now, and the POV1 looks really good, just need to find out if I can process the Mpeg4 footage on my avid. very cool.

I just followe the links to a UK reseller. Imports from US may be cheaper, not sure how much after taxes.

Quite a lot cheaper if I recall. Last time I bought something from the US I asked them to mark it down as a gift and the Pilchards here still charged me import duty despitebeing marked clearly, so I rang them and called them a shower of shites.

I had to write in with a letter from the supplier etc to get my money back, I told them it was a free sample for a product I was thinking of retailing over here.

Just a set of power hungry jobsworths

It does come with editing software and I do believe the company provides its own video hosting sevice, although I haven't actually tried either. I just save the files and then drag them into WMovieMaker.

I just looked at that link and see the wide angled lens is now available.
