Sourcing wood supplies for next year

I currently source all my wood from a friend whos a Tree Surgeon I know but demand appears to be increasing beyond my enevitable supply. Obviously there's very little I can do about that this season but I don't want to be in the same situation next year

 

Now I'm assuming there must be some demand from Tree Surgeons to have their arb waste removed - how can I tap into this? It's one thing when friends are doing eachother a favour but how do I go about approaching other tree surgeons? Everything I process is done with a chainsaw and axe and thats how I'd like to keep things. If I was to approach another firm and ask if they want any wood removed free of charge am I expecting too much? I don't want to go down the avenue of buying wood in when there appears to be a potetially free source available - the lower my overheads the bigger my profit

they have a sayin up this end of the country (shy bairns get no sweets) basicly if ya dont ask ya dont get i phoned hundred of tree surgeons before i found 1 willing to sell for a small fee to cover the lads christmas party others told me they would rather watch it rot than help me out give it a go the worst that can happen is ya have to take the rubbish wood aswell

supply and demand mate, if they have it and you want it you cnt expect it for free. if you pay a bit for it then you might do ok. i get my wood from my tree surgery company but i also buy it in as i sell so much i cant get enough of the stuff.
