well, funny cos the figure has throughout history been widely estimated, and continues to be increasingly up estimated as they realise there are so many it almost defies belief.

 

Some say about 2% identified, this says 5% but truth is we have no way of quantifying them yet, and maybe never will, if we can still find new species of mammals think how long it would be before were even getting close to classifying the Kingdom mycota!
