hello,iv just bought aload of beech ,and silver birch and cherry tree logs also some conifer its been well seasoned 3 year:thumbup1:im going to split it and put it in net sacks 10 kg each what should i ask for a sack?would it be ok to mix it or

do them seperate?cheers :thumbup1:

Mix them mate so the customer has a bit of everything. no arguments then. and i have seen hardwood bags in B&Q going for £7-£8 a bag. find out how many bags you can make out of what you bought and you will want to either sell them at a price to break even with the costs outlayed onthe timber or if you make enough bags do it to make a profit.

theres also quite a bit of oak in there aswell so if i say 3 quid a net bag that would be ok?cheers

 

Try a fiver mate and reduce if they dont go but im sure they will sell at that. I did 100 nets last year and all went for £5 each. Took 2hrs to net the logs up and sold them all outside the front door, nice little earner really that one.

just looked at the locol petrol station and there net logs are about 5 kilo in weight theres about 8 split peices?iv filled mine with atleast 15 pieces lol how many 1 foot logs should get split and sacked?cheers

Trial and error. Also depends on what area you live in. How much demand there is. How much competition there is.

How much did the wood cost you?

Would it be easier, quicker and profitable to offer selling it loose in bulk amounts to shift it quicker?
