TimberCutterDartmoor ur mates long arm tanaka hedge trimmer how long has he had it and has he had amy problem with the gear box just thinking about changing the stihl as im just about to bebuild the gear box on mine yet again

2 years I think and yes, when Abbey sold it to him they also sold him a fandangled grease pump and told him to pump it daily! He does - no probs that I'm aware of. I think I've greased the gearbox on my Echo hedgecutter once in 12 years :blushing: still going fine :sneaky2:

is ur echo a kombi or just the hedge cuuter what model is it (i always thought echo done small things not really worth looking at but just look on there web site) quit amased what stuff they do

Interesting, tried an Echo top handled saw for awhile and it was very short lived, just wore out and was generaly poop. Have used a stihl combie strimmer/brash cutter/headge trimmer for ages and its still going strong.

 

Maybe Echo have upped their game since I last tried um.

 

I bought a echo top handled saw on good review and have to say its pretty good, lighter and more manouverable than the stihl, although slightly less power and around £200 cheaper! only problem was that the clip attatching it to the strop broke so it had a 30ft fall, but bounced and was unharmed!
