did a job for a guy this week who owns a smallholding, his land is on an SSSI and he was asking if i knew if there were any grants availible to fence his boundary, any help appreciated:001_smile:

Try contacting your local Wildlife trust or Natural England normally a fencing grant is only given if the area is going to be grazed in a maner with the up keep of the sssi ,and not for a profit gain by the smallholder, hope that helps?

There are grants available in some areas to help change the status of an SSSI, for example from "unfavourable unchanged" to "unfavourable recovering".

 

Talk to Natural England, they're very helpful and realistic about the commercial possibilities and how they will benefit woodlands.
