prob with ms250

hi there ive got a ms250 its been in the shed for a while and i was going to to bring it back out to use as ground saw mainly next to the chipper but when i tried to start it yesterday it just wouldnt there is compresion there but it willnot turn over any ideas what it could be any help would be great

have you left fuel in the tank for a period of time, if so it could have gone stale, thus will not fire?

hi andy no i put new fuel and oil in it but it wouldnt fire

Cleaned/replaced spark plug?

yes andy i did all that but still nothing do you think it could need a new carb

hi i think so but im not great with mechanics so any andvice would be great thanks josh

the lead going to the plug is the ht lead, un plug the ht lead, remove spark plug, connect plug and ht lead again, then touch the spark plug on themetal near the spark plug hole, hold it there and pull the pull cord, you should be able to see the spark flicker (fiddily to do, sit or stand on saw!)

is the fuel getting through? if you pull the pull cord a fair few times, with the spark plug in place, then remove the plug, is it wet with fuel? does it smell of petrol?

what colours the plug? white bad, digestive biscuit brown perfect, black bad

hi its biscuit brown ive done all that with the plug and there is a spark but its still not fireing ?

have you made sure that the fuel lines etc havent become bunged up?
