As is says on the tin.

 

I know the FC are working to contain the London outbreaks, but personally, I don't think that is realistic and we are going to have to look at managing them, rather than eradication.

 

This latest outbreak is the second outside of the London area and is quite some considerable distance from the original infestations. This is something that we are all more than likely have to deal with in the next few years, so keep 'em peeled boys and girls and look out for the hairy wee critters.

Getting the word out across all platforms is the key with this.

 

No good just letting consults & TO's be the front line.

 

It's Arbs in general & planters that need to be positively keeping an eye on new Oak stock being imported & planted across the Uk.

We have the best oaks and in them oak genetics, WTF are we doing importing Oaks!

I blame the landscape architects .

 

Trees, like any other comodity, are traded world wide. The big suppliers in the UK produce a certain amount of stock, but there will always be a demand for species and cultivars not currently available as UK grown. C'est la vie.
