Charcoal burning experience required in Cheshire

Hi guys and gals, I was wondering if there is anyone out there who come give me some experience in charcoal burning? I'm currently living in Cheshire [Macclesfield] and would love to help anyone who is carrying out any burns in the near future.

 

I want to gain some initial experience in the craft for future projects and can only learn so much from reading about it.

Try the search facility here; there's been a thread on it recently, including a very good PDF attachment on the whole process.

Thanks for the advice on the search facility Nepia. Managed to get hold of the PDF and it's very informative, so far so good. It will give me plenty of food for thought. Think I need to see things done to really appreciate the subtleties of the process. Unfortunately can't afford to attend one of the charcoal production courses at the moment.

 

I'll keep plugging away, maybe it's not too late in the season to catch one.

Hi mate, I dont know off anyone round Cheshire, though that doesnt mean there isnt any! Home is Sandbach for me btw, so not too far away. I know of a brilliant guy in the south lakes if that helps though!

Get hold of david Lloyd-Jones, he has a advert on here for wood mills, he has a brilliant bloke who works with him, cant think of his name, but if you ask for the Viking Man he will know who your after, this guy teaches viking skills ! along with charcoal making, think he lives in or around St Helens, you couldnt wish to meet a neicer bloke.
