Parastitic, Saprophytic and Mycorrhyzal- whats the difference?

Parasitic is detrimental, to a living tree (in varying degrees from weak to strong)

 

Saprobic is basicaly only those that live on deadwood or dysfunctional dying wood.

 

and mycos are those that share an intimate bond with a trees root system, be they Ecto mycorhizal (external) or endomycorhiza's which are literaly inside and out of the roots penetrating deeply into the root epidermis.

 

mycos are extremly benificial in poor soils and around 90% of all plants have some form of mycorhizal relationship, especialy orchids that each have thier own specific one.
