Cs 41 Assessment

Got a couple of fellas doing their assessment in a couple of weeks.

Has anyone done a 41 recently; and if so how much dismantling is required for the assessment per candidate.

Whole Tree - small/medium?

How many Large Branches?

Pole sections - how many?

I'm sure I was probably told on the course by the trainer, but have misplaced that info somewhere in the grey matter.

This is another point; what do you think is the optimum time between training and assessment?

Think it will depent on the trees and how competent the candidate looks, but more importantly which side of the bed the assessor gets out of.

When I did mine a while back I ended up topping down 30' up an Oak butt nearly 11/2 x guide bar. Would have been a bit much for someone if they had not done a lot of spike work. :scared:

where you doing your 41 Jay?

Heaveningham hall, through lark valley. just not looking forward to it to much there trees dont seem to be well suited if you ask me. when i did my 39 we had some fairly large Oaks to work with only thing we could take out was dead wood and the trees had been pruned before so no great anchor points. it the scheduals is says open grown medium sized trees. doesnt seem to happen. or its just me thinking a meduium tree to you lot is a large tree to me.

I'd say that pic in your picture looks like a medium sized tree to me Jay.
