Dumpy bag volumes

Thanks Firewood man, funnily it was as a result of feeling stupid after asking you questions about the weight of wood (you were the first in about 50 calls that put me striaght), that I was prompted to do some research regarding what merchants were actually selling and what they actually think they are selling.

Ive been working hard over the past 7 mnoths to begin understanding this industry, and its refreshing each day to learn more and more from experienced people like yourself. I very much hope to keep up the good work done by Jos.

Woodfuel Wales is interested in standards and we are currently working with HETAS to develop a standard for "ready to burn" logs. 3 producers are currently piloting the scheme. We will not be stipulating a requirement to supply any particular volume, but it will be necessary for the supplier to tell their customer just how much they are getting, hence my post, intended as a fact finding excercise. I do at least now know that builders dumpy bags are not all one size!

Thanks once again for your interest and concern
