Imaging software for Mac

Does anyone know if there is a free non-destructive image software available for Macs? dont need anything fancy, just something that will resize images will do for a start.

Most Mac users will probably be using some version of Adobe photoshop, there are currently several listings on ebay for photoshop elements, you should be able to pick one of these up for just a couple of quid.Not sure what you mean by "non destructive" but just save the photoshop processed version as something else or in another folder and your original version will then remain as it was taken.You just need to check that your Mac operating system (OS??) will run the photoshop version in question.Sorry if it all sound complicated.It's not, just my poor explanation.Feel free to ask more questions if you want, I use photoshop all the time, it's the most used and probably the best.Might seem complex at first but it's easier than sharpening a chain!

they guy in the apple story basically told me that any changes you made to an image couldnt be undone so i would need to duplicate any files before working on them, which i cant really be bothered with!

I use imagewell for resizing pics. Free or very cheap, can't remember. Quick, simple and very easy.

He is sort of right but whatever editing/processing you do to an image you will still have to save in some way otherwise you will have to do them again next time you open the image.

This is the way I do it.First thing to do is to COPY (not move) the pics from camera or card to a folder on the mac.Once an image has been chosen (possibly from the photoshop browser) do the resizing or brightening etc then go to file-save as- and save the processed image under another name or prefix in the same folder or save it as the same number in another folder.It's as easy as falling off a log.PM if you want.

You might be able to set that sort of thing up using Automator. Open, copy, resize and save as in one button or shortcut.
