Greetings all,

Normally skulk around arbtalk at the office (nice proper fast broadband) as the home internet connection is mobile broadband via a 3g skypephone (can't be doing with BT).

The skypephone sometimes manages to slow arbtalk down to a stop.

Anyway, took up microsofts kind offer of ditching explorer, and choosing a browser from a company that understands how to write a proper bit of code.

Decided to go with firefox (as I have heard of it before).

Wow, the speed! Home arbtalking (or should that be arb-reading) is fun once more.

quick question- i use fire fox and it signs me out of arbtalk constantly, like every five minutes. it doesn't do this on any other sites (face book, email etc).

is there any way i can stop it from signing me out all the time? :cussing:

Firefox is the best. Internet explorer is just another microsoft abortion of instability. Check out the add-ons, there are so many you can tweak it how you like- even get it looking like Internet Explorer!

Sorry you are having problems though Chris.

A lightening fast alternative is the Google Chrome browser. Works great with arbtalk and most everything else, and isn't as slow a starter as Firefox.

Try it out. It installs in seconds and doesn't mess things up on your PC.

See market shares of the different browsers here (Safari is Apple's): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usage_share_of_web_browsers
