strimmer head

hi,

 

i've just been given a shaft off a stihl combi unit (used to have a chainsaw head)

 

i'd like to fit a strimmer head to it.

 

anyone know what models will fit i.e. fs 80, fs 55 ???????????

 

failing that, anyone got a head to fit a fs400

The shaft on the chainsaw attachment is much shorter than the strimmer attachment. About 18" shorter from memory.

Hi Dave

 

To fit a head to your combi shaft you will need a gearbox and head complete and this may sound a bit weird but it is cheaper to by a Combi line head attachment (with shaft) than a head and gearbox on its own.

 

Its because us dealers get a much better discount rate from Stihl on units than parts.
