Short ropes

I climb on a bowline and have for about 3 years. I tie it with a double loop which is purely for my piece of mind.

Sure it occasionally catches on the vt but I just tie it so the bar is on the opposite side.

I started with a 50m rope then got bored of hauling all that unused rope through a crotch so just cut it at about 30m so now I have a 30 and a 20m.

Next rope I will probably go for a splice but mines still got some life in it.

one thing i noticed was your gates on your karabiners are faceing the same way, try and remember to have gates not next to each other. :thumbup1:

Yeah probably should keep an eye on them flipping around. Hitchclimber is on my wishlist at the mo which I'm hoping will sort this out.

The 10mmblack cord is something I picked up from a yachting supply store back in NZ I just bought about 4m off the roll and never got what the name of it was.

It works well, just have to set a few more wraps and braids then my other prussic.

I've got a 45m Marlow which I will only use in taller stuff cos it's a right pain hauling it through countless crotches. It also weighs a ruddy ton too. I recently got a 25m Yale XTC with a spliced eye for around £65 delivered from Sorbus International - shopped around for a bit and was the best price I could find - it's ace and I use it all the time.
