Landy tippers fuel filler

On my 130 tipper the fuel filler is under the body, and on a horizontal level with the top of the tank, so if the tank is full it tends to leak out a bit, plus crap gets in.

Wondering how other landy tipper owners have their fillers orientated?

Pics would be useful please.

Cheers....Al.

I have a 110 tipper and it is possible to fill the tank nearly full without leaks. My mate has a 130 and he can only put £20 in his. I notice he has the older leaky type filler cap. What do you have cap-wise? He is toying with the idea of running a pipe to the cab rear bulkhead or something so it can be raised up. Given that his wheels rub the butt tho when loaded, he is going to raise the height of the butt a little bit, which should alleviate the fuel problem too.

Mine is done almost identical to this one. I used angle iron and a bit of plate to mount the filler hole onto instead of welding to the chassis. Takes 65 litres with out spilling no problem, it doesn't even cause the pump to click off all the time. I will take pics of mine later and post them.

TD5 if that makes any difference.

Thanks mate, that looks similar to mine but a bit more vertical, same cap as well.
