Wee Chipper Spares

How's about we avoid manufacturers excessive mark up and post where to get cheaper spares.

I've run a Jo beau m500 since 2005 so have a few tricks up my sleeve.

When I bought the machine fletcher Stewart said new blades would be 120 quid, when I come to replace them they nearly doubled.

My local precision engineer in suffolk manufactured me some. They got cheaper the more sets we had. I went in with a mate, bought 4 sets between us for about 500 quid.

I have had them sharpened a couple of times they are as good as originals.

after a few weeks of chipper ownership i have these few,

belts for my truckloader £11.75+vat from manufactures, or £1.75 from East Anglian Bearing Services

blade mounting bolts £1 a bolt from blade suppliers, or 6-8p from local trade fixings suppliers (TFD in Uttoxeter 01889 566055)

and engine bits like starter solenoids all the bits have come from ebay for less than 1/2 the price i could get through local dealers,

I know there is the arguement to support local dealers, but in most cases parts can be here for next day anyway and i have been told some parts may be weeks through main dealers and had them within 48hrs of the internet.

I should add my next blades will be coming from the manufacturers,
