Is it just me, or is it ridiculously early to have fledglings in the garden :001_huh:???

The robins that have been nesting outside of my patio doors have raised, and buggered off with, their first brood already. Surely that's far too early? Where did they get all of those caterpillars from???

Amazing. I didn't even get a chance to get a camera set up on them, as I thought I'd have loads of time still.

They're not blessed in the cute department, are they?

Work scheduling is going to be a bit of a 'mare for the next few weeks now, what with CROW 2000 etc.

What a great find, was either parent about Simon?

.

The mother flew from the roost just as little Joe climbed past the hole, scared the living daylights out of the poor chap! :laugh1:

I have been back to inspect and you can see her nestled away in the cavity sat on her chicks.

Not trying to worry you unduly, but it's worth proceeding with caution around Tawny Owls. The parents can be very protective towards their young and will often dive at intruders or perceived threats, helmet and eye protection can be most useful !

I seem to remember that Eric Hosking, the noted bird photographer, lost an eye in a Tawny Owl attack when trying to photograph a nest. As I say, not trying to scare you but it's as well to be aware.:thumbup1:

Cheers for the advice, all work has been put on hold pending a wildlife assessment around August time.
