first rope advice

I'm not a fan of Marlow ropes. I've spliced one of their double braids onehanded. the braid was way too loose for my liking. I've heard lots of bad things about their first 16strand line (i know it has changed now).

 

I have other reasons from other cord based industries but this isn't the place to air them.

i climb on Samson Arbormaster and yale XTC, I have some Yale blaze and i really liked it but after i cut my hand i cant grip it tight enough / it hurts likle buggery

h v is hardly worth the effort to type this but...

 

I was helping friendly wildlife rangers to run an all day fun climb for kids and adults the hi vee wore a nasty channel in an ally ring in a cambium saver, no probs with the yale doing that.

 

it is the worst rope I have seen for self twisting and fowling up on itself.

 

 

Go on give us some good reasons to use it then as obviously you rate it highly.

Really mate??? i am not sure...i was just told by my forrestry supplier that he thought it was the business..... i will keep an eye out now cheers

I spliced a split tail up for a small swing cheek pully out of Hi Vee. its a harder rope to work than XTC and arbormaster but doesn't have as stiff strands as arbormaster

I think there are more user friendly ropes too and I dont splice. Used Salamander for 6 months and into the bin..Manu rec lifespan....it was showing signs of wear..real wear and not from abuse I tells ya'....
