Degree in arb? any advice?

Went into surveying and consultancy working for an established company. I'm now running my own successful and growing business undertaking tree surveys for a wide range of clients.

I'm not sure I would be taken seriously by most planning departments/clients without the degree.

The knowledge and skills I got from doing my degree have been incredibly useful in running the business, and as a consulting arb.

Im doing an Amenity Horticulture degree that has arb modules aswell. I would definately recommend doing a degree as it opens up opertunities outside of your chosen area as a degree shows a level of commitment and skill basis that can be transfered.

I too agree with the comment above about CAD. If its offered where you want to study, do it !!

One thing i would say is don't expect to be outside that much. 90% of teaching is in the classroom on a degree.

Good luck with what you choose,

Stew

you can do the FdSc online too, like I am right now, but it is harder for OH so many reasons this way.
