I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks and gratitude to arbtalk member damian for providing me with an outstanding opportunity to work with him and his team recently in Vienna, Austria.

Right from the start, from my initial contact the assistance and support offered by Daimo was impeccable. Flight tickets were arranged, meet and greet at the airport, accommodation provided and then a nice big hot hearty meal provided each day on account at a local Viennese hostelry. All I had to do was pack my bags and get my unworthy ass to my local UK airport! Brilliant.

The work was interesting and varied in and around Vienna. The lads in the crew already working there are top class and very welcoming and friendly, they couldn’t do enough to help you find your feet and contributed greatly to enhance a fantastic experience. The city and the surrounding countryside and woodlands are stunningly beautiful, definitely some of the best “green offices” that I’ve worked in.

The trees are in another dimension, compared to what I would normally work on back here in the UK. Almost daily we were working on trees 30-35m tall (that’s over a 100ft in old money), some fantastic specimens that really pushed you to your limits and then beyond.

So if you are an experienced climber, looking for a challenge, love pushing your personal limits in really big trees, with a great work hard play hard attitude then I would heartily recommend that you get in touch with damian and start packing your bags. It’s a decision that I’m sure you won’t regret.

My thanks and respect goes to Daimo; Kev; Dave and Jake.

Cheers Jake, grabbing 40winks at the bar was all part of my master plan. A few beers and a kip in Shabeen's enabled me to wake up fresh as a daisy a raring to go 1st thing in the morning when everyone else was staggering about like zombies 1st thing.

Sadly though when you're in your mid-forties, there is always a price to pay when you burn the candle at both ends. Work hard, play hard, re-charge when you can. :001_rolleyes:

It was great working with you all, thanks again.

Likewise Dav-la, likewise. You'll have to ask PJ to provide us with a nice comfy pillow if I come back out, I don't want to end up with a flat head and look like a retard. While your at it get him to get a high chair in for the hobbit so we don't all get neck ache looking down at him. he he he
