Hi Community members,

I seen businesses say things like “we plant one tree for every £10 spent,” and I’m thinking about doing something similar for my online store. How much does it actually cost to plant a tree? I’ve heard it’s around £1 per tree through services like One Tree Planted or Ecologi. Do these services charge VAT? And if so, how do you handle that on your books? Can anyone give ideas or suggestions for my online business....

These firms are full of shit. Greenwashing.

you’ll get a mango tree planted in a plantation that was going to be planted anyhow, for profit.

or it’ll be a scheme that starts off with good intentions, but there is no aftercare and every tree droughts off.

There’s no regulatory body for all this bollocks. No oversight. Don’t waste your money.
