Got a ported 660, was running fine then after a few minutes cutting it would start to race, am I correct in saying this sounds like a seals gone? When adjusting the Carb/low/high it's difficult to get it to any sort of usable speed. I've checked the air intake boot and the seals on the carb which appear to be ok, can anyone recommend a pressure/vacuum gauge that would work? Any help is welcome. Thanks

Had a problem with a Husqvarna 353 the other week it would bog down, then stop, over fueling. Anyway look at it yesterday, started it up and ran lean and no matter setting ajustment made no difference. Stripped carb and found water drops in there.

Haven't re assemble it to try it, but was told years ago water in carb can give different symptoms.

660s are pretty bullet proof. There is no history listed...has the machine been ported recently or has it been running for years and just started playing up?

It could be seals gone but that takes time, a split inlet manifold or an impulse line come off?

If ported recrntly, did the fella vac and pressure check the saw...I always did.

Does it have one of those big bore kits on it? If so, it will be leaking from the base gasket.

It is strange that it takes time to play up.

Is the carb OEM?

Cheers Spud. Yeah it's a big bore, i bouhht it from a guy that had it ported, its been running for years....checked the obvious stuff like the inlet and impulse and can't see anything. What would you advise to buy for pressurre/vac?
