Good afternoon, hope everyone is having a good day at work.

When applying for van insurance for their chip truck etc what do you guys say about the vehicle having high sides?

Is this classed as modified? Or don’t you mention about it?

Also does having deadlocks do anything to the quote?

Thanks in advance for your feedback

Anything added/taken out of a vehicle after it left the factory is a mod, if you tell your insurance, or not, is your business. Just don't have an accident if you don't

Hi 👋 many thanks for your response.

My van insurance (3.5t transit 2020 crew cab tipper) went up £500 from £1300-£1800 this year and nothing has changed etc

What vehicle insurance costs are people on here paying please?

Many thanks

I got a quote for insurance on a pickup the other week. As I hope to move soon I used the same vehicle different postcodes. The difference was a grand so that plays a huge part in the cost.

My insurance is currently about 1200 quid up from about 900. Luckily for the economy uninsured drivers keep crashing into cars in the area driving up the cost of the insurance because of the risk. London bubble for you.

It’s just not fair! Why should honest people have to pay for dishonest people.
I’ve done some more research and found out that having a 7 seater is more expensive than having a 3 seater van. I tried to buy a new Arbtruck twice, before  buying a secondhand truck but kept on being pushed down the queue for a completion date. Buying a new truck was the worst experience I’ve ever had buying something new.

Unfortunately life isn't fair, never mind van insurance, my multi vehicle policy that also covers my caravan went down this year. That said, I bought and sold a little van recently, the same vehicle with 5 seats, and windows in the back would cost £30 to tax, 2 seats, no windows in the back £300-odd, how's that work?
