Just downplate the trailer like huck says, its ok to do that.:001_smile:

I have changed the mount for the jockey wheel and made it de-mountable so the back door will open fully. I was towing the other trailer when I bent the door.:sneaky2:

In fact you shouldn't be driving a vehicle with a tow bar and NO trailer with a post 97 licence as you have the ability to hitch up a greater than 750kg trailer and therefore would be illegal.

They must be clamping down on this in this area, as an acquaintance of mine got done the other day for towing a trailer (overweight, bald tyres) that was loaned to the company he works for. The boss was following behind, and tried to tell them that he had instructed the chap to tow the trailer in its condition, and he would take the points and the fine! But they would have none of it and stung the lad. Bizarrely, he had a pre-97 licence, but they said he didnt have the necessary categories to tow a trailer, and he's been towing chippers and trailers for years with no issues (well, he hasnt been stopped before), I know he's on a pre-97 cos he did his test at the same time as another friend, who does have the right categories:confused1: and we double-checked his licence too!!
