So I'm going to go with some sort of exhaust modification first if anyone has any tips,...

PHEW ! 🙂 Seriously though " Crocky " on here does a stella job of porting . He did my Husqvarna 395XP and it won the chainsaw race this year at Wests Wood Fair in a new record time .  @Crocky
