Quad/ATV Insurance

I have tried NFU and a few others. I cant seem to get my quad insured for ag use. It ag registered so can use it on the road for a limited distance, but mainly for firewood abstraction etc. Does anyone on here know of a good company?

I did think i could add it as an asset/plant along with the chipper etc but insurance companies near enough wet their pants when you say quad/atv!!!

My last one was with Ottery as part of a "farm" insurance policy.

We have a Kawasaki Mule taxed and insured (for third party only) for the road. Our broker has it through Norwich Union on an agricultural policy I think (I'll check tomorrow in the office) Its on a group policy with our Massey Tractor and Kubota Tractor - when we bought the mule last year they added it. The fire theft and accidental damage is covered by our engineering policy along with our other plant and kit.

Its classed on the tax book as light agricultural vehicle £00.00 tax per year

Mine is with NFU, but its dear at the moment as they have shifted them onto a car type policy, whereby you build up no claims so next year it should drop by about 20%.

 

The excess is £500 if just locked up but drops if data tagged and drops further if an alarm or tracker is fitted,

Sorry, just checked, its through NFU Mutual, its classified as a Miscellaneous 4 wheel all terrain vehicle.
