I think those tend to work on electrical conductivity on a circular saw... probably wouldn't be as reliable as when used on living or wet wood. Might be harder for the sensors to distinguish between that or a finger.

Reducing another escaped griselinia hedge today... man, I wish I'd invested in a finger chopper by now. It'd really take the sting out of a lot of it.

Man, you should be careful with those things... They are merciless. I wonder if there are finger choppers that actually have real finger-cut prevention, like circular saws do.

Do your chainsaws have finger cut prevention? Its better just to keep your hands well away from the blade.

I do consider the choppers to have higher risk than a chainsaw, they get treated with more respect, very simple, they wont be getting my fingers!

The greatest risk is if I was at a customers and they tried to use it whilst Im away at the van, and why I always turn off and remove the battery when I put them down.

The other climber, he has used them and has a good respect for them, took a long time before he would try them. The old groundie, he has zero cares for safety, likes them for brush dragging but I cant let him use, too risky. I had to lie last time that I left at home for sharpening.

Professional finger choppers have an option of a special glove which turns the chopper off as soon as the blade comes in contact with it.

I have professional finger choppers but don't have the special glove. Haven't chopped my finger and have used them for many years now, didn't chop my finger in the olden days of manual finger choppers either.

Yeah, but the manual ones come with a built-in safety feature.
