Ranger Let Me Down!

Ownership is a bit of a trial tbh. Truck was/is good but been let down by Ford. It was about the time of the above post and there was a tell tale of an oil leak on anything I towed. Not enough to get worried over but a leak all the same. The local folk said it needs doing but they didn't want the job as there were a grands worth of special tools needed and they didn't expect to use those again. A Ford Commercial garage agreed to do it while the first service was done. Mid July it went in with 12,500 on the clock and has been there since.

They pulled the engine and to cut a long story short, replaced a seal in the camshaft but putting it back together, a thread pulled and Ford instructed them to fit a new cylinder head. They are on back order. Mid July until now to get a head. It gets to the dealers and it isn't the same as the unit they pulled!

I got a loaner though. One Transit had no AC, Bluetooth or satnav. The next Transit had Bluetooth and AC. I had an L200 which needed a NOX sensor, then a flat tyre revealed that the spare was stuck to the body. An Isuzu utility arrived and I got to be honest, it is a gutless, rough old ride!

I miss the power, the comfort, the driver aids, the auto box and the smartness of a new car!

Mind you,  the gearbox in the wenches Evoque needs changing and that has been waiting for a box from ZF for longer!!
