I tried the likes of LibreCad when applying for an access to our wood but it didn't work as expected so went for Qcad which you can get a trial version of to see how it goes. I found it very good and simple to use so bought it, only about £50 and tax deductible.

I used QCAD (not for surveys but general CAD work and fiel conversion), moved to LibreCAD which I found to be pretty poor, so went back to QCAD. About 30 euros I recall. Great wee programme but a tad slow somtimes and spits the dummy at 50Mb, sometimes less than that.

I suppose it depends what you are doing and what you need out of it. Have you thought of using QGIS instead? I have PT mapper pro but I also QGIS for certain things. In the field I can use Qfield which integrates with QGIS through a cloud service. Free and open source (although Qfield has some commercial aspect to it now as it just went out of beta).
