friction cord

Hi

Does anyone know what friction cord this is & what eye splice instructions i would need to follow.

 

 

The next project is going to be an adjustable cambium saver & two eyed friction cord for my vt...hopfully:laugh1:

the yellow and black is the marlow boa good stuff that i use it

The top one is Yale Silverstreak and The bottom one is Marlow Boa.

I have both and I like them. Used Boa for years, wears well. Silverstreak is new to me. Took a while to bed in and grip like the Boa. Boa good from day one.

are they both 16 strand double braid?

The Boa is, and I beliieve the yale SS is the same. Happy to be corrected.

They are both doublebraids the boa is quite a stiff lay and quite tough to run home the splice. (i've not spliced it for ages though).

 

follow a class1 doublebraid instruction and you won't go wrong

Yeah, I do like it. I used it for a little while when I bought a few meters when it was half price at the open, at merrist wood last year. Proper good durability, grips reliably, heats up quite a bit though. But I think its definetly worth a go, I only stopped using it because of its cost, and that,I,personally think that there are plenty of other cords on the market that work just as well.

 

Give it a go though mate!
