Personaly I rather like collins complete giude to mushrooms and toadstools, though they always say complete, that is a total unrealistic claim for any book on fungi!

A few from ashridge today, sorry about the quality, was a bit bright for photography today.

Ganoderma applanatums, 100% i might add! some inonotus cuticularis on Acer psuedoplatanus, polyporus squamosus on Acer also and showing just how much rot a tree can handle (white rot) some old pholiota aurivellas on Fagus (no suprises) a past its best Volvariella bombycina (ashridge appears a good site for this one) lets see who knows whats what out of all this! :001_cool: oh and spot the kretschmaria too:thumbup:

Had to asses this Acer psuedoplatanus (sycamore) today, obviously were going to be bringing it down soon as possible.

Cavity at site of old limb removed, probably polyporus squamosus going on tree species and cavity form. The worst or best whichever way you see it case of fruiting kretschmaria deusta, and a first IME finding of meripilus on sycamore (last image) old fruiting from last autumn now dessicated and leather like.
