This Lime, planted in 1720 is now late mature and we completley missed this ganoderma applanatum during the foray, we walked straight past it, overhead!

Many of this fine avenue of limes have been lost now, they housed very substantial colonies of misletoe and its a sad state these limes are now in.

This year just goes on and on giving, i needed a little patience this week as I found a group of magpie inkcaps after the foray and over the last 48 hours have been getting over to them as and when i can. it one of those fungi that I just love, and it deserved some serious atention, I am finaly in possesion of a set that i am happy to own.

I also found a few other bits and piesces today but first the magpie, Coprinus picaceus in all its glory.:thumbup1:

Brilliant set Tony :001_cool:

Were the new finds singular or in a group, what was the predominant substrate?

Thanks David, they appeared in a troop of around 7 all pretty much in a line/vien following a line of dead branch that was incorporated into the soil surface. Another aspect was some fine (green clippings) grass clippings in a thin layer and a good smothering of leaf mold/leaf. The grass must have a high nitrogen level? and also kept the conditions damp around these dead branches in contact with soil.

They like this spot, seen them here before.
