Hi folks.

First post on the forum but I've been lurking for a while.

I wondered if someone could identify my old husqy. I picked it up recently and I'm currently doing some work on it. Now I'm fairly sure it's an old L77 but would like to confirm that. Runs up well. I need to source a new exhaust as its completely shot to pieces. It has monster compression, damn near rips your arm off so also need to source a cheater D handle!

Thanks in advance!

That was my initial thoughts too but from the bit of online research I've done the 65 had a completely covered spark plug and the 77 had a bigger top end with the plug poking out of the case.

Not entirely sure though, hence the post!

If it is a 77 I think they're pretty rare. Not seen any listed anywhere, especially in the UK.

Yes it is an A77, which is an A65 with the 80cc cylinder, hence the angle of the spark plug, The A version was the earlier saw before the  later L, differences were the starter with grid riveted on, the muffler had a flange on the back and was retained with short studs and nuts, they very often had a Bing carb, there are a few other differences but I do not want to boar you all to death.
