Most places let you go straight in, but Myerscough didn’t , they are way cheaper than anywhere else , £850 for level 2 , and £950 for level.4.
Their online learning system is amazing , I’d honestly get I touch with them, they may just ask you for a statement detailing your experience etc, and you may get a place without level 2 .
Level 2 In my mind is worth doing , and building up to the level 4 certificate and then diploma.
Cheers

Steven

The full level 4 diploma at Myerscough is much more than £850 (that price might have just been the award or certificate) although they do provide excellent value for money.  They are full this year - and that's because they ARE excellent.  You can do the award (1 unit) or certificate (5 units) first and then top up to the diploma (8 units in total).

Tree Life also have an excellent reputation although I have heard their level 4 is also full.

The Training Tree are also full - it's a popular year for qualifications all round!

I agree that it really is worth doing the level 2 first:

- it provides a solid foundation for the level 4.  Without it, you will likely be doing much more extra reading than those who have done it (and it's already a big workload).

- it's not about speed of qualification, it's quality - this is the foundation for your entire career and how you approach managing the urban canopy; a management mistake with a tree can stay with it for life.

- there's a lot of competition for jobs out there.

- trees need proactive, precise, knowledgeable and holistic care right now with all the threats they're facing.

It's worth checking with Myerscough and Tree Life to see if there's spaces on their level 2.  You can also do the level 2 with Merrist Wood in class.  It may also be worth checking with ABC + Certa Awards (new name https://skillsandeducationgroupawards.co.uk/?search-type=normal&s=arboriculture) to see what other providers may be out there offering these courses (e.g. Lynher Training in Devon and Cornwall run the level 4 in class).

All the best.
