As it happens....

I could get used to this life. You would not believe how well they have forestry organized over here.

All houses built out of wood = lots of local demand + lots and lots of superb local woodland with big trees + dislike of harvesters = GREAT WORK FOR GOOD FALLERS with all skidding extraction.

Also 4 sawmills in just this 1 valley = minimal road haulage = minimal carbon footprint.

Its all a bit like the UK once was. sigh.
