Butter??

Ive heard that butter works mate. Havent tried it myself, but was thinking about giving it a go. Might wait and see how yours turns out before i try though.

 

I didnt bother i just chucked it in with my clothes into the washing machine and it comes out good as new,wash my prussic a few times now (sad i know)

I did the butter thing on 50m of pine sap covered blaze and it came up real nice after a wash and a few climbs.seemed crazy but worked a treat,think it was a tip from mr bristow i believe

Cool,did you leave the butter on the rope for a while then chuck it into the was?

As far as I remember from far back then in scool this should work as butter (fat) should work as dissolvent for the resin. BUT I would never smear my rope with butter anyway

I would assume washing should work good enough and you would need to wash the butter mess anyway

From what ive read butter does remove sap/resin but then you have to use mayonnaise to remove the butter, marmite to break up the mayonnaise, freeze the lot to -20oC then wack it with a hammer to shatter the marmite:thumbup1:
